well... let's say x=no. of boys. =>14.285%*x=no.of girls

14,285%*x + x =560
x(14.285% + 100%)=560
x * 114.285%=560
x=560/114,285% =560*100/114.285 ~=490 (boys)

no of girls=560-490=70.

The number of boys we will call x. So x+.14285x=560. This is simplified to 1.12285x= 560. Divide to get that x=490. So there are 490 boys. 560-490= 70 girls.

g + b = 560
g = 14.285%b or .14285b

.14285b + b = 560
1.14285b = 560
b = about 490 boys

g + 490 = 560
g = 70

about 70 girls
about 490 boys

The correct answer is 70 girls, since it is 14.285% of the number of boys (not 14.285% of the number of students, which would be 80).
