A person comes to this world with what is known as his "Prarabdha karma" (it means a portion of enjoyment and suffering the credit and debit of his earlier life actions). The position of the ascending sign at the time of birth and those of the planets, along the zodiac give clue to whether he has come with more credit or debit. The credit is called "Ishta phala( favorable effects) and the debit is called the Kashta Phala( adverse effects). The vedic astrology has very many tools by which it can be determined as to what kind of suffering will come to him at which age of his life. So also the auspicious events like marriage, birth of children, position in life, education, travel etc.
When the horoscope is read by a well versed astrologer he can pin point the dates of incidents. Nothing is left to chance if any reading fails it will be on account of astrologers ineptitude only.

Gay marriage: I'm a Christian, so homosexuality goes against my own beliefs. But, I will not hold it against anyone who is gay, and I think everyone should be able to get married. So I am fine with it. They should have adoption rights too. Death penalty: I don't have much of an opinion about it either way. I think only if the case involved murder it's okay. Abortion: I'm pro-life. I don't think you should abort the baby any way. It's wrong. Pre-marital sex: Honestly I think it's fine if it's 1) safe, as in using condoms, 2) you are at the age on consent and 3) actually love the person. Physician assisted suicide: No, no, no. A doctor should seek help for the person, not help them die. The election: I was kinda hoping for Hilary Clinton, but Obama seems to be doing a decent job. Can I add 3 more you forgot to mention? Circumcision: Yes, it's fine. I don't see why some mothers would oppose it, other than religious reasons. Medical marijuana: Yeah. If the person needs it more medical reasons, not addiction or just to do drugs, it can help them. Sex ed in school: Yup! Kids need to learn about that stuff. You can teach abstinence or whatever, but teach them about condoms and safe sex too!

It all depends on you. What do you think? If you believe in GOD than he has a plan for you but he also created you with 'FREE WILL', so it is your choice whether you follow that path, or not. If you don't believe in him than it's all up to you. But isn't a chance just an opportunity you jumped on or simply let slip past? And once again it was your choice to do either. But as old saying goes 'you reap what you sow', so my answer would be that everything is predetermined, the only question is by who. At the end all you can do is live your dream or die in someone else's.
P.s. Didn't mean to come across sexist. I believe GOD is ALL and therefore has no gender.

10% of life is what we make remaining 90% is how we take. We definately do not decide the time and place of birth. Also we cannot decide to die.(we die only when time ends) As far as marriages are concerend, it is based on our actions of present and to some extent, past life.
In a way you can say that life death and marriage are pre-determined.

I'm fascinated by numerology. I strongly believe that numbers reflect certain aptitudes and character tendencies, as an integral part of the cosmic plan. Each letter has a numeric value that provides a related cosmic vibration. The sum of the numbers in your birth date and the sum of value derived from the letters in the name provide an interrelation of vibrations. These numbers show a great deal about character, purpose in life, what motivates, and where talents may lie.

Interesting question. In my view, our lives are not predestined, instead they are predisposed. That is to say that based on the circumstances of our birth (genetics, culture, parents, environment) and our philosophy (our free-will based on our way of thinking), some of us are more likely to get married then others--but nothing is a certainy. People you think are certain to get married might not, and someone you thought would never get married might. Same applies to life and death. You cannot know for certainty, you can only estimate the probability. For example, a person who leads an unheathy life is likely to die. There is a high degree of probablity they will die before someone who eats well, exercises and so forth.

So I guess its a combination of the two. You can put the odds of your life in your favor by taking steps to put yourself in a category that has higher probablities of success (such as taking care of your body, getting a higher education, and socializing), but that cannot and will never mean for certain you will live a long life and marry.

One of the most common questions spouses ask when confronting a marriage crisis is this: How can I save my marriage if my partner doesn't want to help find a solution? How do I succeed I am trying to save my marriage on my own? Learn here https://tr.im/zzzGc

It is a typical enough story: one partner leaves, the other stays. One remains 'in love', the other is uncertain. Whatever it is that has caused a couple to be apart, the one person who remains bears the prospect, fear, doubt, desire, hope of saving his or her marriage' alone.

this is a type of question many people ask because almost everyone thinks of "God's will" and "Our free will" in a different way. God doesn't say "oh..these two people will get married on this exact date" ..because if that were true..there would be no meaning to life..where is our choice? I beleive that God loves us so much that from the beginning (Adam and Eve) He gave us the power to even reject Him. And there is no destiny also.
If "Joe" was destined to marry "Katty", but he got into a fight with his parents, moved away and married someone else..then that "destiny" wouldn't make sense.
*In conclusion, I beleive that we as humans have free will and that God helps us to walk in the right path..without force. I'm not trying to sound like I know exactly what God does, what I mean is that He will guide us by giving us many signs in many ways (some people therefore beleive in miracles).
*Therefore nothing is 100% pre-determined or is taken by chance.
We can't decide when to die..for we cannot put ourselves in the place of God. And for marriage...you could know someone for years..and end up in a bad relationship or the opposite could be true..no one really knows...but God knows who is best for us.
I hope you weren't annoyed at receiving this huge paragraph, but many things cannot be explained in point form.
In the end, this is my and many people's opinion.
hope this helps!

Everything on earth is pre-destined, but only GOD knows.
Life, Death and Marriage are major decisions in One person's life, but these are also just another incidents on this earth's bossom, which has seen innumerable happenings till date.

Whatever happens here to every single creature is so synchronised, that one is left just praising the LORD. It's so meticulously done which no other organiser can perform without a flaw in the system, which Only GOD can perform.
