While I wouldn't consider it sexual harrassment or battery (Yes it did happen when I was expecting) some people would...
Rather than get into legal definitions and law suits, next time a stranger or even a friend attempts to touch your belly uninvited step away and say "Please don't" if they continue be more forceful... It's your body and your choice to allow another person to touch it... Saying "No" even forcefully is your right...
It's also a good learning experience learn to say no in a tone that means business and remember that tone it comes in quite handy with a 2 yr old child....

No, I don't consider it sexual harassment nor battery.
I don't mind but if I don't want someone to touch my belly then I just move out of the way or put my own hand on my belly.

It should be who do these people think they are? I hated that when I was pregnant the only person I wanted to touch my belly was my husband.

Are you serious? No! People should respect your private space but they are far from committing a criminal act by touching your belly.

I don't think so. Unless it was some pervert, and pregnant women turn him on. And he was doing it to get his jolly's. It's ok to tell them to stop. Then if they persist you could take legal action. I don't mind people touching my tummy. I HATE it when people poke me! I'm not the damn Pillsbury dough boy!

it never bothered me, I was so happy to be pregnant. I don't understand why it bothers people. It seems instinctive almost like patting a small child on the head.

I doubt it is either, just very rude and poor judgment. I hated it but also realized that most people are just ga-ga over babies and lose their common sense.
