Sure did. I was always burning something.
Plastic, Styrofoam, bugs. A magnifying glass was always loads of fun.
Speaking of styrofoam, we found out the hard way one day that gasoline eats right through it!
Fireworks were always a big hit too, we always had some sort of "contraband" device.
Anyone remember "polish cannons" with tennis balls?
I never burned ANYTHING indoors, it was always outside. Not that it was a whole lot safer. I remember one day we caught a whole tree on fire by accident. Luckily we didn't burn down the whole wooded area!
Today I design systems that extinguish fire. Ironic? Maybe, but I know a lot of people in the fire safety industry (firefighters included) that admit to having a fascination of fire, particularly as children.

I tried to. Thankfully I didn't burn down the house. I was between ages five and seven. One time was by myself in the basement with matches and the hot water heater nearby--yikes. Luckily, I got no fire. The other time was with a neighbor kid under the wooden front porch with dirty rags and matches. Again, luckily no fire. I was actually a good girl. I liked figuring things out by myself. I also didn't have enough supervision as a youngster (obviously). Parents--hide those matches and watch your kids. If they're quiet, there may be a reason.
PS I never got caught, so I never got punished.

Yes of course, but I didn't catch anything on fire that I could get in trouble for. I would burn garbage for my family or old junk that I didn't want anymore....and in response to all of the people who said that children starting a fire is insane behavior I must disagree...I believe as long as it is NOT arson behavior then just burning garbage or playing with sparklers and little fireworks is okay under adult supervision. My mom always used to tell me if you keep playing with fire you're gonna pee the bed but I never did and also I played with lighters and burnt garbage a lot and I am a sane, happy adult. So grow up with the stereotypes and generalizations people!!

34 and still do! I like to light my plants/flowers that die on fire. I was just doing it today with some annuals in my yard. I think its great. I also like to get the propane torch out and light stuff, (nothing important) cob webs and such on fire.. Then I like to have fun with a magnifying glass.. I have ruined more pairs of tennis shoes burning holes in the soles...
Oh no, I might have a "slight" problem...

Yup, also wanted to be a firefighter, but I guess with time my fascination with the "fire" went away after I set the family trash bin on fire and got a hell'a of woopin!

No, I waited until I was an adult. THEN the fun began! I used to set bonfires in my backyard, oh crap the FBI didn't they just pass the sheet where -did congress pass that today? where they can get away with what they have already been doing?

We had Smokey the Bear classes when I was a kid. Remember, "Only you can prevent forrest fires."? Still, I was disillusioned when I realized that other people could prevent them as well.

yes...when i was a kid, me and my cousin used to dig at least six feet deep holes in the summer and we crafted the dirt into chairs in the hole, only two chairs, and then a sink ((a really deep hole in the allready existant hole that went down to water)) and there was a hole in the side of the wall where we made fyres.
we did this a couple summers in a row, we also built TPs out of thick dried grass that was like bamboo, and fastened them together at the top with regular grass, and covered the rest of the TP with grass we braided together into sheets.
seriously
