I think as a wife you have certain duties to perform. I was brought up that a house should be clean because the wife and husband should help eachother out. However if your husband comes home from work a nice home cooked meal wouldn't hurt. I think that if you are lazy, dirty, and dont feed your man. You make a bad wife. I dont think however you need to be a maid. Sharing responsibilities is great! having a 50/50 marriage is better!
