I'm in a pageant in 3 weeks, and i need some tips on how to get a flat stomach. other than crunches, is there anything else? it seems like they havent been working. ive been running to get rid of some of the fat on my thighs, but that really hasnt been working either. im going to start with a personal trainer this week too. does anyone know a good crash diet i can start? thanks!

well, to get a flat tummy, you cant just do sit ups. you can't just lose weight in one area by working out that one area. but you probably know that. but doing sit ups will make you have a stronger stomach, and as such, you will be able to hold in any extra fat. same with thighs, you cant just work them out. You need to do cardio, such as running to lose the overall fat. plus the sit ups and squats.
also, eat healthy! they had this episode of Made or something on MTV with a pagent girl in your same situation who crash dieted and ate nothing but cottage cheese and it did not work out for her. She was not able to lose the weight she could have by eating well. Her stomach was still kinda big and so were her thighs.
your body loses weight better if you are healthy. if you starve yourself, your body stores fat more because it doesnt think it will get food anytime soon. so don't starve yourself, it will be harder to lose weight. (i know it sounds weird but its true.)

What many models and actresses do before a big show or photo shoot is they go on a zero carb diet. Eat protein, vegies, fruit...salads. keep away from salt. this will reduce the water weight you have. also, drink lots of water because it will help flush out your system and help get rid of the extra pounds. once again, don't crash diet. i know it sounds like the best way, but its actually the worst because it puts your body into survival mode and actually causes your body to stores more fat in order to stay alive because it doesnt think it will get feed anytime soon. Also, if you eat healthy, especially a lot of fish, your skin and hair will look so much better, plus you'll have more energy and judges love that.

here's a site that lists some exercises if you get bored of the ones you're doing: http://www.drillsandskills.com/skills/cond/core

Don't do a crash diet because it is bad for you and you will look sickly, pale or have zits from it and you will not have the energy you need to accomplish it!! Use duct tape to flatten your tummy! If your outfit allows it use it on your thighs also. I used to judge state and national pageants and my daughter was in many. She was thin and a gymnist and didn't need it but I helped the director one day and laughed at her trying to look as thin and young as the girls! Some of the girls and the director used duct tape. It holds up boobies better than a push up bra also!Put something under the tape though so it will not hurt when you pull it off! Go ahead and work on your exercises but if you still aren't happy you will have a solution! No crazy diets! Did you ever think that God wanted your thighs and belly like that ? He doesn't make mistakes!Besides you will look like you instead of and all of the other girls!

Squats, lunges, scissor kicks, and the thingies where you lay on your side, lift one leg up from the other parrelle leg for the thighs.

Tae Boe or constantly tightening and then relaxing your stomach muscels during the day for your stomace.

Crash diets aren't good, but if you're going to do it, you're going to do it. Cottage Cheese and constantly taking vitamins so that your body still gets all the crap it needs.

And then the day before, and the day of, water water water, and vitamins.

Crash diet.

Furthemore, if you knew you were going to be a pageant, you should've started working on your body sooner.

I would recommend the Atkins diet with your exercise. I lost 7 pounds in my first two weeks (and at that time I wasn't even exercising)! Since you only have a few weeks, limit ourself to only 20 grams of carbs a day. Carbs are usually the first thing you burn off while excersing, so if you eat less of them, then your body will have to move on to burning off the fat.

You could drop out of the pageant on the basis that it is a demeaning sexist exercise in vacuous narcissism. You could devote the time instead to improving yourself somehow. Consider a career path that involves your mind not your body. Remember that beauty is temporary and skin deep, stupid goes to the bone.
