If (HR) my job wants to reclassify my position, can the union object, if there is nothing writtien in our current MOU?, Reclassification is downward and not upward!, No one will be displaced as a result.

The employer has the right to control and direct the workforce and to manage the business. Unless there is specific language in the Agreement limiting management's authority regarding reclassification or a "Maintenance of standards" provision, the only thing the union can do is discuss (not negotiate) the pay rates.

Reclassification takes many forms - combination of jobs, technological impact, less responsibility, lower skill requirement, change in operations/methods - all of which, generally is within the realm of Management's reserved rights.
