For everyone who is a resident?

Our health care system is not free, but it is paid for through our taxes, and every citizen and permanent resident is insured. The problem with the American system is that is run on a private and profit basis. The health care corporations are very powerful and block the formation of a public system. I am sorry to say, we are seeing our wonderful health care system being undermined by private cartels who see health care as a market with potential for making billions of dollars. I just hope Canadians will stay vigilant, else our politicians will will sell us, the people, to the corporate elite they serve.

It depends on the province, as some charge a health premium. But in most, the extra taxes we pay, pay for most of our care.
If you can fit the criteria to get a health card, you tell your number to the heath care provider, and they bill the province. Most basic and life saving care is provided this way. Some people buy private insurance to supplement for private rooms, drug costs, or the private treatment in other jurisdictions should they need it.
It's not free, but you don't worry about a catastrophy of being denied care because of the cost or losing your house should you become sick.
Canadians can thank Tommy Douglas (qv) for this.
We call it universal health care.

Yes, if you are a Canadian citizen and have a valid health card, then you are entitled to health care. By the way, Health Care is not exactly free, we pay taxes and with that noney, the government funds health care

Only for official residents... they have a socialistic type health care.. they are not like in the US where any illegal can get anything they want and the taxpayers pay for it all

No; it's not free. We make monthly payments whether we use it or not. It's like insurance but it doesn't go up if you do use it.
