Just an FYI - CZ and Diamond are not chemically the same, and they are not the same hardenss. Big misconception.
Flip the stone on it's table (the large flat facet on top), on a newspaper or magazine. If you can easily read the print through the table, it's a CZ. If the letters look flipped/reversed, or otherwise distorted, it could be a diamond.

CZ is exactly like a diamond--they are the same, except one is made in a lab. They have the same properties of diamonds--they are the same hardness. Because CZ is made in a lab, though, is it essentially flawless, unlike any diamond. Use a gem magnifier and if you see little cracks or lines on the inside, it's probably a real diamond. It's hard to tell with the color, seeing how diamonds come in many different colors. If it does appear to be blueish or silverish, it might be CZ.

to the nakedeyeCZ is brighter and sparkels with more colors. if it has a silver tinge it is probably a CZ.
If you shine UV light on it, the stone should luminesce yellow or greenish yellow.
CZ's are too bright to be diamond, which (unless absolutly colorless) will have a very slight grey/brown or yellow tinge. and if you look at it with a jewelers loop or very high magnification glass will have inclusions.

if its too perfect, then its a cz. There is no perfect diamond, they all have flaws, look at it closely.
