how long does u have to wait to get a positive from bloodtest......how long do u have to wait to get positive from urine test?

A blood test is more precise.

Blood:
-shows the hcG amnt (quanative test), or can also give a yes/no answer (qualitive test)
- Shows a pregnancy sooner than a urine test.
- Takes about an hour, in a lab. But can depend on where you do it and stuff. Can take a few days to get results back.
- The best test, because it's most accurate.
- Done with a doctor
Urine
- Store bought, shows results in minutes
- Measures hcG in the urine, but depending on the test, sometimes you need to have a lot of hcG to get a positive test.
- Most accurate a week or two after missed period.
- Has false positive and false negatives.
I'd go with the blood preg test if you have insurance and a doctor.

a urine test you can buy at the store and know within minutes but if it comes out negative and you still think you may be pregnant then you have a blood test or if its too early to do a home pregnancy test a blood test helps because it picks up lower amounts of hcg in your bloodstream as where a home test will not.

Blood test is done off a sample of blood. Urine test is done off a sample of urine. It depends on what they are testing for as far as how long before you have results.

A blood test will show you are pregnant after only 6-7 days after conception.
Things show up in your blood faster.
A urine test will show you are pregnant 10-19 days after the time you think you became pregnant...(store bought tests)
At the health department their tests show up 10 days after conception.

For what? drugs? alcohol? urine just gives postive and negatives and what type of drug, blood tells around how long, what kind, and it a definite positive.
