I have a scar on my neck from where I was attacked by my own dog when I was a child about 10 years of age. Its pretty long and on the left side of my neck.

The doctor said that if I hadnt of had my thick winter coat on and had the dog bitten an inch further he would of hit my juggler vein and I would of died. What does it mean to me.....it means this.....God saved me that day because He has plans and a purpose for me : )

I have a scar on my right thumb, down where the thumb meets the hand. Its about an inch long. It happened about 10 years ago, maybe 8, well I was at home with my mom and my little brother and I really really wanted to make some Jello. I have the biggest craving for strawberry jello. But my mom said that I couldn't make any jello until i did the dishes, there was maybe a sink full of left over dishes, and a few new glasses. Well I was doing the dishes, got to one of the new glasses, went to slip my hand and the wash cloth into the glass and the glass shattered under the water with my hand in it. The glass cut my hand really good, the water got all bloody. Well i should have went and got stitches, but I'm scared to death of needles and I knew they woul dhave to give me a shot in the cut and then sew it up. I wasn't willing to go through that. So my mom covered and cleand the cut and it took for ever to heal, it was practially cut down to the bone. OUCH, i'll never forget my jello battle scar

Not a battle wound, and not mine either, but it's very interesting...

My wife has, on her hand, a scar that is in the exact shape of a giraffe's neck and head. I kid you not :)

She got it when she was a baby and her step mother was holding her while talking to her father who was working with an electric grinder in his shop. Being a baby, she didn't know better and reached down and apparently grabbed the grinder and it tore her hand up pretty good.

Now adays she tells people that it is african skin art, which of course it's not, but it could pass for purposeful scarring which a lot of people are doing now. Quite cool, and I'm glad she can't remember it happening.

So...this is pretty retarded, but, dammit, it's my story. So when I was about nine or ten, I had a bunch of stuffed animals. One of them was this Cookie Monster-lookalike, with big, cheap plastic eyes attached to the front of its face. One time it was lying there at the head of the bed (like it usually did), and I was trying to hang something on the wall there. I moved my knee up onto this small mound I saw to get a better position, and instead felt a deep cut into my knee! What the bloody hell! So I look down, and I had chipped off this huge chunk of flesh off the bloody Cookie Monster-wannabe's eye!!! Until today, ladies and germs, that scar is still there... I will always remember my heroic battle with that cursed toy. (It now lies in some garbage dump somewhere.) Curse you, Cookie Monster-wannabe!!!

I have a very faint diagonal scar running from my bottom lip to mid chin. When I was 5, I was attacked by a dog and my lower lip was severed off. This scars means that I should most likely never own a dog.

I have a scar on my knee from a 4-wheeler wreck. I was going to a buddy's house (rural, country town), who lived on a dirt road. I didn't fully appreciate the difference in traction between pavement and dirt, and I came around a curve too fast. It went sliding, and slung me into a barb-wire fence. I was bleeding ALL OVER. Cut up my arms, chest, stomach, legs..................seriously, I was freaking out when I looked down and saw all that blood. I was only about a quarter mile from my friend's house, so I got back on and went on to his house. His mom doctored me up, and I'm extremely lucky that I only have one scar from it. BUT............this story's significance comes from the fact that, the day before that happened, my dad had chewed my butt out for getting that 4-wheeler out on public roads. Not only was it illegal to do so, but I was FIFTEEN YEARS OLD! The only reason he didn't take it away from me was because I used it for a lot of stuff on our farm that had to be done. But the old man was right. I should have never gotten it out on the roads. 19 years later, that scar has nearly went away, but I can still see it, and I think of him every time.

13" scar down left leg, thigh on outside.... 2 surgeries on hip that took 32 the 1st time, then 35 staples the 2nd time to close up... and two nice parallel scars on same leg front of calf from a car wreck where I flew out and a tree limb cut two paths down my leg.

Also a 'little' scar on right ring finger where I busted a dork in the mouth so hard it cut my finger open.

I got one on my chest...acid scar. It was during uni days...in the chemistry lab...was just distracted and careless....and i spilled the freaking bottle of acid on my blouse. Sting like nothing I've ever experienced...rushed to the toilet to wash it off but it was too late...the damage was done...got a bad scar about 8cm in length. It has faded over the years though. But now when i looked back at it...it reminds me of the looney days back in school...kind of a cool momento
