It can be high maintenance to shave....if you can stand a little pain....wax, it lasts much longer and you dont get razor burn or the pricklies when it grows back

i shave, especially when my horrible three days a month are over... it's just much cleaner. if your afraid of the itch, i've always used a brand new blade everytime and waited at least three days before shaving again or going to the beach and i've never had a problem
