A little info about myself....My LMP was 8/25. I believe I ovulated 9/7. I think I experienced implantation bleeding 9/16 - 9/19. I am now 8 days late. I took a hpt and it was negative. My doctor told me that he thought it would be because I have PCOS and my hormones are out of balance. My question is how long does it normally take to get a blood pregnancy test back? I took one Thursday morning and they said they would call me Friday morning with the results but never did. Do you think maybe something showed up that they need the doctor to analyze? Or maybe some hcg was in my system but not enough to determine absolute pregnancy? I'm so confused, nervous and anxious. Has anyone else experienced this? Maybe hearing your stories will help me make it through this weekend.

When I've had blood pregnancy tests, the results were ready in an hour or two. But it depends on the lab and stuff. If you are pregnant, after the embryo implants, the amnt of hcG doubles every day or two. So it would more than likely show positive through a blood pregnancy test. But through a regular preg test, it depends on the how much hcG needs to be present in order to get a positive pregnancy test.

Good luck. =)

Its likely that the doctors office just got busy and weren't able to call you back. It isn't very likely that something came up and the dr needed to analyze it.
Next time something like this happens, make sure and ask the dr to run a progestorone level as well. This will tell you if you ovualted at all.

You know sometimes they just don't get around to calling everyone there supposed to, they get caught up in someone else for the day, or have an emergency or something seems to always come up, so they tend to just blow it off. I know cause it has happened to me, I would finally call the Dr's off. and they would say "oh well, We got sooo busy and I forgot to call you. Or I guess the lab didn't send it over yet or something like that. So just be as patient as you can, its prolly just there error. Don't worry, and enjoy your weekend.
