Starting from day one of your period, count 28 days. That should be the next time you get it. You will get to know exactly when, the more you get it. A good way is to keep track on a calender. The little achey on/off pain in your lower left abdomen is caused by you ovulating.

As you get older your periods will, more than likely, become more regular and there will be a predictable number of days from the first day of one period to the first day of the next. In addition, as you have more and more periods you will begin to notice little tell tale signs that occurs in a predictable pattern each month that will give you clues to when you are about to begin. It would be a good idea to begin charting on a calendar what day you start and how many days it lasts. This will allow you to start seeing trends in your menstrual cycle and better predict when your flow will start.

It takes a while before your cycles to become more regular.
When they do they are usually every 28-30 days apart and last anywhere from 3-7 days. You can take Tylenol for little aches and pains, there is also midol and pamprin made just for menstrual pains.Another thing that may work is to take a warm bath to sooth you aches as well.Good luck

A girls period it usually like that in the beginning. It will slowly (or fast) begin to regulate. Some women need to go on medication however to help them out and some women will always have irregular periods. Give it some more time and then speak to your doctor
