I just hope the voters in those all-important districts aren’t fooled. It’s not like these candidates finally came to their senses and now realize W is a bad guy and a poor leader. It’s not like they intend to try and stop the madness if elected/re-elected.

They’re still kissing Georgie’s butt… they’re just doing it behind closed doors… distancing their public image from the unpopular tyrant, hoping unwary people will mistake them for good guys.

I think it's because the candidates are reading the polls and understanding that the Iraq war is a major dividing point among the voters. The majority realize that occupying Iraq was the wrong move and there doesn't appear to be a plan to exit with any successful strategies.

It's time for a change.

They know he is very unpopular - the polls still have him at 35 - 40%. So, as the elections near, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan keep getting worse, the economy keeps slowing down, and the calls for Rumsfeld to go keep headlining the news - Republicans don't want to be seen as too friendly with Bush or his administration.

i'm undecided the place this gibberish comes from, and that i'm thinking, the place is any evidence to back this? extensive waste of money? kin issues? in assessment to...? And if he's so undesirable, why are his approval scores continually bigger than Pelossi's (loss of) Congress?
