I was wondering if anyone has heard of starting clomid BEFORE your period comes.
I have taken clomid days 5-9 and 3-7, and I've heard of 1-5 on the internet, but my RE said to start today,
which is day 28 of my cycle. I usually have 30 day cycles. I am pre-menstrual and think I could have waited, but he said it didn't matter because the blood test showed I was definately not pregnant, so just start it now.
Any info? Should I start it anyway???. . .
I'd LOVE to have shorter cycles but I don't know if this is safe.
Thanks!

Be aware of taking Clomid pills dear, Both my mum and sister, took Clomid pills and after 6 weeks taking them, both of them got 2 breast lumps.
Clomid increase fertility rate.
Reading a book, I read also that taking Clomid for a long period of time (say 12 months), you increase your chance of having ovarian cancer.

You want to risk it ?
And this is all true, even doctors know of these side effects.
I am TTC also. The doctor and midwife told me, that if I ever decide to take Clomid, I must get regular checks, mammograms and ultrsound to check whether a cyst or lump is forming !!!

Better think twice dear !!! Goodluck.

What is clomiphene?

Clomiphene is a nonsteroidal fertility medicine. It causes the pituitary gland to release hormones needed to stimulate ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovary).
Clomiphene is used to cause ovulation in women with certain medical conditions (such as polycystic ovary syndrome) that prevent naturally occurring ovulation.
Clomiphene may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

That's interesting, I haven't heard of that either. My ob/gyn just prescribed Clomid for me and told me to take it next cycle on days 3-7. You could call and ask him again to make sure or call the pharmacy and ask them(usually they are knowledgeable).

I have never heard of that either, but there must be a reason why
your Dr. had you start it. Call Fertility Lifelines they will help you in any way they can. 1-800-LETS-TRY is the number for them. And they actually have nurses on call to answer your questions. Good Luck
