First practice panting like a puppy dog. You should feel your stomach moving (a bouncy feeling). Now play a long tone on your flute and use this pulsation feeling to play quarter note tones. Keep the air going as you use the tummy muscles (actually the diaphragm muscles) to push the air in litte pulses. Work slowly at first.

As you learn to control the pulsations move to eighth notes and then sixteenth notes. Pulsations should be even and steady. Once you have learned to control the vibrato at different speeds apply to scales and your music. It takes a while to develop a nice even vibrato.

Avoid using the throat or lips to control the vibrato as this can restrict air flow which is the life of your tone.

Before you try to develop vibrato make sure you have a good basic tone that you can hold steady for 10 to 20 seconds. Keep working and good luck.

You left yourself wide open for this one....put a vibrator inside it and turn it on! lol! Sorry! I had to say that...as corny as it sounds! I would say look it up online. It sounds like you probably do some kind of quick motion with your lips or throat...air passing through your throat as you open and close the windpipe...or something close to that. Maybe closing your lips slightly and quickly....not sure.
