I am thinking of buying a condo in Miami, Fl. I was wondering if I should buy the one on the tenth floor in a high-rise building or the one on the third floor in a four storey building. Both are bay front properties. Which one should withstand a hurricane (cat. 1-3) better? Is the building standard better for one than the other?

The one to choose is the one you prefer.
But prices are coming down, why don't you wait till January or February 2007. maybe interest rates will be down as well.

Well...you should get one with a nice view of the place. The only issue would be if you have young children.....a high rise might not be the best idea (same with small dogs/cats) Other than that...GO FOR IT! I nice place on like the 10 floor is awsome. And as far as the weather goes....if there is a huge hurricane...it doesnt really matter what kind of condo it is....although.....if you got one that is on the second floor...it could flood easily

Well you should get the one with a great view... maybe the Tenth floor in a high rise if it is safe and sound in it.

I moved from NYC to Palm coastline & like it. All my ny acquaintances wrestle over who receives my concentrated visitor area contained in the wintry climate! it really is way less intense priced than ny and there are some sturdy colleges.
