Why do men get married when 70 percent of marriages are initiated by women? Do men want to lose half their stuff and get forced by the courts to pay unreasonable alimony for years on end to someone you no longer care about and are no longer having sex with? Do men actually believe that women love???????

Just so you people know, I have never been married. But I have had plenty of friends who have. I am also a man who plans for everything. I never take a gamble I don't think I can win. Marriage is sure loss if your a man.

That sounds like BAD marriage . You need to work on it. People get married cuz they don't feel like sleeping alone or dealing with the dating scene + all of the stds out there. Usually they have kids and the financial and emotionally stability that a marriage has the potential to provide. NO relationship is perfect. Its something you have to work through. Divorce sux and ***** people up bad. I know my parents got divorced and I haven't and they haven't been right ever since. My dad got cancer and died at 50 , my mom is like an old depressed spinster lady w/ like no $$$$$. Little problems just don't warrant that.
Women do love , maybe you just find the wrong ones.

I do love! with all my heart ! just having a hard time finding Mr perfect. when I left in my past marriage/ relationship I left half or most of the stuff and I never asked for child support or any money after the break ups. we are not all b*tchs , I believe the guy has to be able to support himself too. most women are greedy and want revenge so they hurt the guy any way they can.I have had 4 B/F and still friends with 3.why can't people just grow up and move on without wanting revenge?

The man isn't the one that always gets screwed in a divorce. I'm going through a divorce right now and I'm the one with the retirement account. Heck, my soon to be ex doesn't even have a job. Women do love forever. Men are the ones that don't.

I hate to tell you this, but you are right. The laws these days are set up to protect the women. The worst part is that the woman can initiate divorce, and now your likely separated from your children, another man comes into the picture, and now he's raising your children... and your paying through the nose for all of it! My best advise to you, whether you like it or not... choose a woman with strong Christian values. A woman of faith is less likely to end a marriage for frivolous reasons..ie.. bored, met someone else, or just simply doesn't like being married.

From a financial perspective, you are absolutely right. Marriages are a huge financial risk for men. And current divorce laws are the reasons. At anytime she could divorce you and take you to the cleaners. That's scary.... talk about totally being at the mercy of some!!

You see only what you choose to see in someones else marriage .with only one eye opened. You are afraid to even open the other eye.

we are stupid we let women talk us into it i have been married for 17 years but i got married at 30 years old men dont ever get married before 25 better yet 30 women love sucurity and money which is the same thing dont have any kids until you have been together for at least 3 years

here is why... we get tired of eating our own cooking vs eating out... we get tired of trying to clean our house and mow our lawn all on our own when we watch the happy neighbor couple working together...we get tired of trying to find a date for Christmas and new years and the holidays in between(has it been that long) ... we get tired of going without sex.. realize we will never retire or get to do, see, or have the things we really want on a single income..
and when nothing else adds up.. its a b l o w j o b...
plain and simple..

Totally agree and its a damn good question. If anything men need to wait until they are damn near 40 before getting married. Most men don't want to commit and yet women continue to persuade them too.
