Is it safe to leave clothes at the laundry while you go to the store?

Depends on the area, and how busy it is. I do it all the time, but I live in a small town, and the laundry mat I go to is supervised, and it has security camera's.

If I lived in a bad neighborhood, or if there were 20 other people milling about, I'd probably not leave my clothing unattended.

I'd really hesitate to leave laundry running while I'm shopping elsewhere. There's so little respect anymore for other people's belongings, so unless your clothing isn't worth much (and therefore not worth paying $ to wash it) don't leave it unattended.
Use the "down time" to read a book, pay bills or watch the soap operas blaring on the tv in the laundromat instead.

Yes and no. I've only had 1 problem with leaving my laundry at the laundry mat while I ran my errands. My comforter got stolen..Damm near brand new too.. Oh I was soooooooooo pissed. Had ideas on who stole it but nothing solid, and of course the owners are not resp., for lost,stolen,damaged laundry. I've never left my laundry unattended again.

not a good idea unless they have an attendant on duty. i had clothes stolen on christmas eve!!

no because someone is always watching and going to steal them or you will forget which washers they are in,,,,,what size do you wear anyway
