Rourke is a great actor. Take away his style and the way he talks and he's still got raw talent.

Yeah, he was in a movie made in Brooklyn about a drug addict and his very dysfunctional family. I don't remember the name of the movie, but he was compelling. The thing I remember most (after Mickey's acting) was that almost every scene in the movie occurred along the Culver line (the F-train). for non-new Yorkers, that is an elevated subway which -after leaving Manhattan=runs basically from Redhook to Coney Island, two very rough areas.

He made a lot of stupid early choices (9 1/2 Weeks, Angel Heart) and screwed himelf into the ground
