Yes, since God himself is being obliterated from the American psyche. It is almost illegal to mention God anywhere except church. What a shame.

Yes. Now that you mention it.
At one point in history the Church made it heresy to preach the poverty of Christ. It is heresy again today with America's religious right. You wonder sometimes whether any of them have ever read the New Testament, not just selected passages.
Jesus encouraged everyone to be like "the birds of the air". "They do not reap or sow, yet your heavenly Father protects them" etc, etc. If Americans really trusted in God, they wouldn't need money.
Personally I put no trust in God. Fact is he doesn't even look after the birds. They die in their thousands, from starvation, predators, accidents, and of course, humans.
I don't think the Christians are foolish enough to trust in God either. It just makes them feel all righteous and secure mouthing slogans like that.
What they really believe is that the Lord helps those who help themselves. Which saying comes from Benjamin Franklin, not the Bible. It is actually quite contrary to what the Bible teaches.

Most definitely as there is not only Christians living in United States. There is a wide range of people living in the country. Maybe they should put "Out of Many One People" as Jamaica as they are a smaller developing third world country and they recognize this but for big first world giants the U.S.A. to not recognize its surely demeaning. If your a christian then its alright but if your a Jew, Muslim, Sikh, atheist etc and a citizen of America then you just would not feel comfortable with this so when doing these things you cannot just think of one group of people, you have to think of everybody. It's called democracy.

I trust in God and family. I do trust those who are citizens and have a legal right to vote. I don't trust those who are here illegal and vote. I do trust those who have a pulse and vote. I don't trust the voting dead. I do trust those who vote because they love America. I don't trust those who hate America and vote to destroy it. I do trust those who seek to make this a stronger nation and vote to accomplish that. I don't trust those who want to weaken our country and vote to cripple it. I do trust those who understand what 9-11 was about and why it better to fight terrorist over there then in the streets here. I don't trust those who think 9-11 was a government conspiracy and want to cut and run from fighting terrorist in Iraq. I trust those who fight to protect the lives of the unborn. I don't trust those who use abortion as a political tool without regard to the destruction of innocent life.

No, its only hypocritical for atheists and polythieists. People who believe in no god and people who believe in more than one god. Otherwise for all monotheists (beleif in one god) the saying makes sense and they can apply it to their daily life or whatever. It doesn't really bother them.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but the US ranks second only to Turkey in the number of people who believe in a higher power. My only saving grace is those in positions that count don't have a distorted worldview, ie, the scientists, physicists and astronomers.

Hard call.
The main thing I remember Jesus saying about money was, "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and unto God what is God."

No, if we give God our money to spend it for us His glory will shine in us with every purchase we make.

Tell me about it. I don't think the "Government" knows who "God" is anymore.
