I love being alone, sometimes to sleep more, sometimes to just be to myself and my thoughts, often talking to myself. Am I some kind of weirdo? In fact, recently i sent everyone packing, no females in my life for a while. Don't want the distraction. I realize this isn't a best-seller. So be it.

Sure its normal. All different people - all different personalities. Some like to have constant attention, as a means of feeling important or powerful. Some like to be somewhat involved with other to benefit from others or help others. And, some like to be alone... free from "hassle" and distraction, like you. Don't think you're weird, because its just your personality. Don't think because others do something else that you have to as well to fit in. Be yourself.

Maybe in the future, you'll feel the need to go public again. Along with personality comes phases. You see a child go through phases growing up... well, that doesn't stop. Live how you want to live and enjoy your time on the planet as you want to - not how others perceive it.

I think a lot of it has to do with what you do for a living, someone who has a demanding life with the public for 8 or 9 hours a day might feel more compulsion for "me alone" time. It's not abnormal, I happen to be my own best friend. In fact I've taken vacation next week and when people ask me what I have planned I simply tell them "a whole lot of avoiding other people". Funny, but they know what I mean.

It is excellent, if it is a conscious choice !
Man is the only being that can choose to be alone, and yet be completely free from loneliness !
When the perception deepens enough, contributed better , or possibility enhanced due to chosen alone-ness, then a person can evolve to the extent that , NOW others seek him, and he doesn't NOW mind crowd !

I think it's normal. I find that I cannot relate to anyone. I just prefer to be alone because of it.

There is a mental disorder I don't know how to spell it. My brother has it. There are quite a few symptoms that come along with it. It's pchizo personality disorer. It's worth looking up. He seems to be happy though. It's much more than just liking to be alone though. I'm just rambling.. tooooooo much time alone haha!

It is not abnormal; on the contrary, it is extraordinary. Most creative and thinking people love to be alone, free from the social fuss and bindings. Such people prefer the company of their own thoughts to the meaningless bla..bla involved in socializing.

I would rather be alone. There are times when I feel alone even in a room full of people.

I don't think so. I need to have my "me" time. If I don't I get grumpy and anxious. So unless I'm weird as well, I would say it's quite normal.
