Is this legal? Do I still need to petition the court or can I simply file the change of address with them? Can he still cause a problem for me even though the agreement was signed between the two of us? Please advise. I've already checked out divorcenet.com and it isn't specific enough. Can anyone help me? I'm already moved, but now he's threatening to have me arrested if I don't comply with whatever demands he has.

If you have a signed paper/agreement from him, you shouldn't be in trouble. Let the courts in ILL know you have moved, and enclose a copy of the agreement between you 2.
He has no right to make demands upon you! Don't even give him the chance to try. If you have ANY proof of the threats, go to your local court house and get a restraining order.
Good Luck

Since it was not entered into the court system....You need to seek legal advice at once... take the agreement to an attorney ... yes anything to do with custody needs to be petioned within the court... it prevents all the he say she say .. especially when the relationship between the parents is not on the best of terms.. good luck

You need to go to an attorney asap! If you have full custody it wont be a problem, you are permitted to move out of state as long as you gave him 30 days notice. the agreement you both signed will help in that regard.

I would have the agreement drawn up and signed in front of a notary.
