to muggers add; thugs, rapists, burglars, hoodies, etc.
I wonder if we've identified the right problem when we talk about 'terrorism'.

Seems to me the govt will spend billions preventing us being killed by foreigners but doesn't mind if our fellow citizens do it.

Just a walk down the street? A mugger... but if I was walking down the street and both appeared and I had to choose one I was more afraid of... depends on the mugger but prolly Osama... Not because of what he's done.. but because of the mystery of exactly who he is and what he does in person...

Bin Laden doesn't act the same way a punk does. You could meet him in a dark ally and he probably wouldn't give you a second look. He would go back home and phone a freind to hunt you up and take you out if he was so inclined. I agree we need to be doing a whole lot more in the criminal department to stop some of this crime, our lawyers, judges, and goofy laws are really screwing things up bad! But if we don't spend our money and time on the threat of terrorism and the terrorists none of the above will matter cause they will take us out as a whole.

I'll be honest with you, I wouldn't be scared of Osama Bin Laden or muggers. What I would be scared of is Osama bin Laden's followers. Those people, truly believe that blowing themselves up, to kill the enemy, is an honor. So I would be scared if I saw one of his people, more than him because everybody knows Osama Bin Laden is a coward and he has his people, do the dirty work for him. The only way I think Osama Bin Laden would kill himself, is if he was taken alive, by the enemy, such as us, Americans.

Well, in parts of Los Angeles, Washington D.C., the south side of Chicago, or the Boston combat zone, an armored Humvee would be nice.
Instead of reinstating the draft, how about offering some of our bad guys an early release from the slammer if they sign up for a tour of duty with the military overseas, and then look the other way while they do their own thing against the terrorists?

Being that Osama is a coward hiding in a cave I doubt that he would take any action by himself. So unless he is accompanied by one of his poor deluded saps with bombs strapped to his waist, I have to say the muggers.
