Oh come one you aren't the only person in the world that doesn't have one. I am 35 and I got my very first Laptop a month ago. I have been using PC's for some time but I think you might just be pushing something smelly uphill trying to get a laptop off your parents lol. I wouldn't push it, you might just delay any chance you had of getting one.

At 13 I said everyone else had !, too. Guess what? They knew it wasn't true.. I am sure your parents do also. It Is Not So! Try acting more responsibly. Better yet, just keep using the desk top. A laptop is too expensive a toy, especially when you can't get on the Internet just anywhere. You have to be in a WI-FI hot spot, which are usually far and few between

Tell them that you will use the computer for educational purposes. Tell them that you need the internet for reports. That is what i did. I told them that i couldn't use my brothers because he had to use it for his own work. They actually bought it. They first got me a laptop, but i sat infront of teh tv and used the laptop 24/7 so they took the laptop away and got me a desktop. But i like the desktop anyway. It is like 5x better and is like half the cost. Anyway just say that you are gonna need it for school and to talk to friends about
"education." (wink, wink)

Tell your parents that the computers are a very interesting piece of equipment and that you want to become a computer science major and you need to start at an early age to become great. LOL...

lol man I'm goin' throw the same thing too. I'm 13 too and I have been concincing my parents to buy me a labtop but they won't. Mabey they just don't have enough money to buy a labtop (after all they range $500 - $5,000 +). And your not the only one who REALLY wants a labtop. Try taking responsibility, do chores, get better grades in school. And just mabey, they might buy you one. Seya later dude...

when I was 13. trust me computers didn't fit in your lap. You need to find out if you can negotiate. find out what you can do to better your chances.
BTW to you i might be old, but I'm only 36.

honestly, depending on your family's financial status..you dont. im 19 and got one at 10--but i never played it and it was given to me as a reward for good grades. I later got another computer i paid for myself by working. so..if you're rich--get good grades? if not...work.
