Hanging, Gas Chamber, Firing Squad, Electrocution, or Lethal Injection? It looks as if the firing squad would be the cheapest, as it would only require the use of 4-5 rifles and a few bullets compared with the medical equipment required for a lethal injection.

All forms of capital punishment are monitarily more expensive than life in prison due to the guarnteed rights of the accused that require access to appeals which require appointment of counsel.

I strongly suspect that the actual carrying out of the execution is the least expensive of the whole ridiculous process.

First we have to convict the dirt bag. Then we have a second penalty phase. Then we incarcerate him. Then we process appeal after appeal after appeal for years while he sits on death row with free meals, free shelter, free medical care and free legal council.

All the while the victim's loved ones mourn the horrific loss.

Public stoning.

On pay per view you charge $9.99 to view the public stoning of all Rapists, Murders, and Molestors. Then you charge $100 a stone (family memebers get 5 for free) and have them run the guantlet. They have to wear a head cage and a groin cage. Anybody who makes it thru 3 runnings gets put in for the "Superbowl Half Time Show" where the winner gets a free ticket to any place but here.

It would vitually elimante our taxes for prison and prisoner rehab.

No the cheapest would be to leave the criminal in a locked room with the victims family and their bare hands. Then all they'd have to do is pay for clean up services.

All of the forms of capital punishment you listed would be relatively cheap, if we eliminated the years worth of various appeals.
