When was the last time you cleaned house?
- Are you using a complex screensaver - it runs in the background and eats memory. I had fun with mine, then changed it to blank.
- How many programs do you load at startup? Maybe you should check it out and ensure you are running just what you need.
1.From IE, click Tools, Internet Options
delete cookies
delete files (offline files)
clear history (set days to save to 0 if you want)
click o.k., and Restart
2.click Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools – run Disk Cleanup
3.Temporarily close Quick Launch:
Right-click on the Taskbar, click Toolbars, deselect Quick Launch
4.Open My Computer
right-click on C:
click Properties
click Tools, select Error Check (check all and fix), when finished click defrag & run.
5.click Start, Run ipconfig renew (type ipconfig space renew)
6.Restart. Right-click on Taskbar, click Toolbars, select Quick Launch to restore
All these things should be done regularly. The more frequently they are run, the less time they take.
-Note: Games and videos are mostly graphics. Graphics create large files. If this doesn't help, you might need more memory.

Some of these are good and others are just file management tools which can help but from the sound of it, they won't. Combining them is a certain order will work. There is a lot of stuff involved to speed your system up. (READ FIRST, DON'T DO YET unless ur familiar with Windows Completely)
1. Get a up 2date virus scan and anti spy software installed. (not Symantec Norton) Pref: ATT Yahoo's Computer Associates or Trend Micro Internet Security aka PC-cillin
2.disable all startup item
3. boot xp into safe mode.
4. Run anti-spy first then anti virus.
5. uninstall any misc programs that get install unknowingly from Peer to Peer software (trash) and mis-leading software like Internet Optimizer, etc
6. delete strings from registry. (don't touch if u cant follow the strings location provided in the MSCONFIG)
7. reboot system
8. uninstall remainder software that would not uninstall in safe mode, not rebooting if asked.
there's more but really it depends on the system specs first. it could be needing upgrades also. There are tell tell signs but reall hard to say over the Internet. (only for Sexi_Shorteh: Send a e-mail to me @yahoo.com for further assistance) these processes do work and can be long at times, I do this all the time. There are a lot of things to consider first.

go to - start - programs - startup and see what is there. If anything, delete it. Go to Run - type in MSCONFIG, selective start up, (BE CAREFUL) Uncheck anything you do not need to run the computer. Watch for your security programs. Restart your computer. Let me know.

That link up there may shed some light on why your computer is running so slow lately. I hope it isn't.
Good luck.

May need to go into your hardrive and delete your Cache and Cookies files.
ASK A COMPUTER EXPERT ABOUT IT BEFORE YOU DO THAT THOUGH. SOME POOTERS NEED their cookie or cache files.
