So I was whooping it up on my MLB 06 the show and I noticed an injustice in the hitting streak record. When I was a veteran on the Giants about two or three times a month I was called on to pinch hit for the pitcher. If I blew my one at bat then my hitting streak was over. Does this seem unfair to anyone else. It would seem that the AL automatically has the edge when it comes to creating a hitting streak. Your thoughts....

Ok You people are idiots. Let me spell it out. The NL has more pinch hitting opportunities than the AL. You pinch hit for a pitcher you get one try and if you miss your streak is over.
In the AL you may not pinch hit at all, or if you do pinch hit it's for a position player to which you would get another chance possibly.

OK, maybe I'll make it really simple. Do you agree that the NL has more pinch hit opportunities than the AL? The more pinch hit opportunities the harder to extend or even start a streak. I bet a lot of streaks in the NL can't even get started because of it.

While I see your point, a caveat exist to it. It really depends on when that AL pinch hitter comes into the game. If they come into the game in the 7th inning or later, they may not receive another at-bat. This would then destroy your philosophy about the unfairness because you're solely basing it on if they receive another at-bat.

Also, a position player can pinch hit for another position player in the NL. You seem to only be relating the concept to the pitchers spot. But its applicable to any spot in the batting order.

Plus, if a player has a hitting streak, it's highly unlikely they'll be pinch hitting unless it's the player's day off. Usually managers are eager to play a player who has a hitting streak because it means he's putting the ball in play.

dude are u craked a hitting streak is based on having atleast one hit in concecuative games. if u dont have a hit the streak is over thats why they call it a streak. and i have played mlb 06 the show and a hitting streak is the same as in real baseball. if u dont get a hit that game the streak is over thats the same in both leagues

First of all we are not idiots. Secondly, stop talking down to everyone. Lastly, as long as the AL has the DH baseball will always have this situation. Now go back to sleep.

how can your streak end if your not able to attempt to extend it? it may not be a true streak, but it will be a consecutive games played streak, say you get to play in 3 of 5 games, and et a hit in all of them, you would have a hit in YOUR last 3 consecutive games played
