i say you're exactly right if the radicals maintain controll of congress and the senate. this drop in gassoline prices are a buy of the november election and you can bet you life on it. if the republican radicals get back in office just watch the prices go up and don't cry to me because no one told you.

There are several factors to consider about the price of gas. 1- how much does it cost to produce it? Winter blends are cheaper than summer. 2- how much is there 3- what factors are controlling the price on the open market.

If we wanted cheap gas, then we'd really be pushing for exploration of new gas reserves. If we want to find better ways, then we'd be best off letting the dollar dictate that private companies will compete to get the best product to the market the fastest. We've seen an improvement gas mileage as prices have gone up.

Then again, if we want cheap political shots that have little or no basis in reality and allow us to demonstrate that we are fundamentally economically uninformed, we assume that the president somehow magically sets the gas prices.

There shouldn't be any reason for them to go up after the elections, unless of course there is a big natural disaster or terrorist attack that impacts the supply. Of course if the Dems win, then prices will likely go up due to new regulations and taxes!!

woohoo ...i dont even know if the economy can sustain 4$ a gallon... i mean, they have to keep the market afloat or they lose sales ...i would say it will creep back up to 3 somthing ... and if war happens with iran i expect prices like that or worse ... shortages... lines.

I don't think it has anything to do with elections, but more to do with alternate sources of energy that are making the OPEC countries nervous. There are several new technologies making a stir in the world today and the market is trying to compensate, hoping to make everyday citizens forget they are out there!!

If you honestly believe Bush and Republicans control gas prices then buy $ 10,000 in crude oil futures now and place a confirmed sell date (regardless of price) for shortly after the election. If its a conspiracy then you will be rich if not then you will have your eyes opened to market economics.
