Psychologists say the more hooks you hang something you've just learned on, the better you'll remember it. This method works for me. Say you've just learned a new word; floccipaucinihilipilification. It means the action of estimating as worthless. First write it down and its definition. Then say it. Then type it out on a keyboard. Look at it, both handwritten and typed. Finally in the case of a word, it hasn't really entered your vocabulary until you use it in conversation and hear it as well as see it written down. If like me you read a lot, there are probably hundreds of words you understand but don't know how they're pronounced because you've only read them, never heard them in conversation. In the case of a practical skill like chemistry, if you've worked out the equation for a reaction, carrying out the reaction in the lab helps. Or say you've just read how a torque converter in an automatic transmission works. Going to a garage and playing around with one is helpful. There's a website with a name something like how stuff works. Google it. It's brilliant, because it combines written explanations with animated pictures and diagrams. Oh yeah, it's been shown that if you learn something when you're sober, you'll remember it best when you're sober, and if you learn it when you're pissed, you'll remember it best when you're pissed. And flash cards are useful. I'm learning Spanish with www.byki.com, which uses this method, and it works for me.

First, make sure your mind is awaked. This is achieved by proper rest and Not so full intake of food. Second, you need condusive environment (quiet but it depends though if you prefer some soft music but generally no disturbance, airy, clean). Third, the method of memorizing is often cited to be a joined force of our left and right brains, thus association of images and storyline would help you link up a string of events. You must find out if you remember best with listening, talking or writing. For listening, you might want to record your text and repeat listening to it; talking requires help from a listener and writing is reading the text and rewriting it down in notes. Best memorizing method goes differently with individual.

Write down what you need to know, several times. Recopying my notes always helped me. Using flash cards did too, but I think it was bc I made them, so writing each one got it it my head more.

Also, try this trick for definitions. Take a sheet of paper, and turn it sideways to its horizontal. Then on the left side, write down 5 or 6 terms (not too many, you will get confused). Then next to each one, write the definition. Fold over the paper so you can no longer see the terms you wrote, you can only see the defininition. Then try to remember the terms, and write each next to the definition. Then fold the paper again to cover up the first definition, and you can only see the terms. You get the picture. This may help you!! (sorry if it seems confusing, its hard to explain, ha!)

Good luck!

Make a song in regards to the words. My friends and that i had an AP Math type and we had to study approximately 20 new words and we ended up making a rap approximately them haha. It became relaxing and consumer-friendly to bear in strategies, plus you may recite it on your head in the process the attempt. while you're actually not stable with that style of component you may desire to ask a chum to return over(probable one on your type) and make a activity out of it as you study. you're given 5 minutes to study the words, and then the sport starts. one in all you calls out a be conscious and the different has to define it and its antonynm/synonym for each be conscious you answer incorrect is a dollar out of your buddy(and vice versa). of direction you may change the dollar out for a candy bar or the rest.

I think the best way is to associate it with a funny story or scenario. Repetition with flashcards can also work pretty well.
