i dont think you're gonna find too many of the former homeless online. i suggest going down to a major intersection and asking one of the guys holding up a sign.

what do you want to know?
I hitchhiked around BC last summer, and I used to run away from my foster and group homes and stay on the street. The longest time I ever really was without a fixed address was about five months. that was when I was 16 and 17. I know a lot of homeless people, and I worry about them. It's a rough life, and people are so mean. It's like people try to pretend that youre not there. I've gone busking (begging with a guitar) to try to get money for food or a bottle before and played for hours for a negligible handful of copper and silver colored coins. People do drugs because it's the only real recreation that you can afford or are allowed to praticipate in. even (some) christians on the streets smoke up or drink. I guess they focus more on the loving your neighbor and god than wearing gold crosses and buying jesus t shirts and trying to make a point on a bloody internet question room (the last thing mentioned I'm starting to regret doing).

I was homeless a little over 3 years ago.
I am now working for a great company, have an awesome girl(who was also homeless when we met), we're making plenty of money and now we're having a baby.

Anyone can do it if i can, hell, i used to smoke anti-depressants for fun!!!

You're last question pertained to those who worked in security. Are you writing a paper about 'security guards for the homeless' ?
