I just want to bring it down for a minute or two. That shouldn't affect the tides in any serious way, should it?

use a telescope, but it might cause problems with your eyes not the tides

it would affect the tides... umm I'm thing either strong magnet or lasso... what ever you prefer should work. and wear a foil helmet when you do this.... aliens....
