Someone else asked this the other day.
Dark has no speed, it doesn't exist in the way light does. It simply means that there is an absence of anything to reflect light.

The speed of darkness is instant if you are in an enclosed space with no light entering. Wait until night and sit up in your bed and put some thick blankets over your head in a completely dark room, then turn off the torch/flashlight. The darkness is instant!

every one here is wrong. The speed of dark is proportional to age; because when ur 8 the dark comes way to quickly (like twice the speed of light). but when when ur 30 and want to go to bed with ur spouse and are waiting for the eight year old to got to bed. then the speed of dark is 1 meter/hour.

its really a nice question
well darkness is nothing but the absence of light
as fast light moves , darkness also moves with same speed.
whenever light gone darkness comes with same speed the light leaves

There is no darkness light is everywhere it is just at low levels which you call darkness. Hence cats can see in what we call darkness.
Some might say that black holes are dark but if you saw a black hole you would need to have light to identify it. So your in light and if you were in the black hole you would still have light coming towards you.
Therefore if darkness does not exist then it has no speed.

I think everyone here is completely wrong!!!
This is a good question, and should be treated as philosophical.
In light of this I believe dark is infinitely faster than light because it has the same forces working on it but it is infinitely less massive than light (photons have no mass but carry energy, and E=Mc) while dark Carry's no mass OR energy...
on the other hand, it's said that rumours are faster than both!

good questions. I don't think it would be negative the speed of light. That would be like saying there's such a thing as negative distance. I think it would be the same speed as light since light is leaving the place where it's being kept.

There is nothing like dark where there is n light there is dark. so the speed with which light leaves drak comes in. hence speed of dark is equal to light
