The legend talks about two twins named Romulus and Remus who were raised by wolves. It says something about Romulus doing something to Remus so that he would be the leader (killed him or something). That's how Rome got it's name, from Romulus.

If you're going for Roman mythology, then Romulus and Remus. Otherwise you're looking at a whole bunch of prehistoric guys settling down and a city eventually emerging from it.

I hate to break your balls but George harold Rome (G.H. Rome) founded Rome.
he purchased the land from Chase bank in 306 b.c. it was previously owned by dick Clark who lost it at the tender age of 103. The property was purchased for 300 U.S. dollars and all the stone was donated by the salvation army. in 302bc Money was raised from the worlds largest bake sale to purchase an offical statue carved by none other than Dave Walters, who now resides in Chicago working at a salt shaker factory. Dave hates his job but after the market died for hand carved statues he had to fall back on his "god given tallent" which sadly, was screwing lids on salt shakers. anyhow, back to the history lesson at hand.
in 299bc things were picking up for G.H. Rome. he finally had enough capital to invent the porch swing. the porch swin took off instantly, it was a world wide event, everyone wanted a porch swing. The problem came with shipping. Fed Ex was just forming their high cost policy and shiping porch swings made out of stone proved to be more costly than G.H. anticipated. Sadly a new walmart moved in to town and ran him out of business right when he was at his weakest. Chase bank then tried to repo Rome in 202bc and a huge war broke out. Luckly it ended in 4 minutes and no one was hurt.
181bc. the first churchs chicken was opened and life was good for 600 (or so) years.
