if you aren't sexually active it isn't so terrible, but if you are active then i'd say it's definately time to get one!

also, it's not just about cancer, but you need to know if you have an STD so you don't spread it to anyone else if you do. (i'm not saying you do, but you never know)

If you have ever had sex, even once, you really need to get a pap smear. HPV is a sexually transmitted disease that is extremely common and usually shows no symptoms. HPV can lead to cervical cancer which you can die from if it is not caught early enough. Regular pap smears usually catch cervical cancer in its earliest stages - before it is even cancer. At this point it is very easy to treat. Going and getting a pap smear is easy to do and a lot better than dying!

I think that you should. I was 21 when I had my first pap smear and discovered I had pre-cancerous cells. i had to have a procedure done to "burn the cells." I'm okay now but it could've been detected earlier and prevented with regular pap smears. I know it could be scary but it's well worth your health.

Depends. Are you sexually active?

My grandmother NEVER had a pap smear in her entire life. Of course she only had Grandpa so there was no chance of catching something. She was never on the pill, never wore a tampon, and died before AIDS was something everyone had heard of.

In this day and age it is more important.
