they surely are!!!! otherwise why should they do something, which doesn't bear them fruit.

I am not gay and I do agree that Jesus is the way to Salvation FOR ANYONE. He doesn't only love straight people. His messages were all about love, tolerance, acceptance and forgivness. I don't think he would have turned anyone away.
I think that the statement that Gay People are mentally disturbed because of an unstable family or because of any other reason is a very rash generalized statement that comes from stupidity. There is honestly nothing but ignorance in that statement and it shows a clear lack of intelligence. That would be like me saying that all people with blue eyes will get HIV. Come on....Enough with the ignorance already!

I had a very good upbringing, my Parents loved me. I don't know who you think you are, but being you are here posting these questions it seems like you are the unstable one. What is wrong with you? Are you on drugs? Just curious. By the way, I am not mentally disturbed and have a great life with many many friends and loving family. What was your question??

Hi Olga.
The few gay people who are mentally disturbed any more or differently than the general population are, are mainly disturbed because of the hatred, attacks, negation, and misunderstanding they get constantly from people like the ones who trained the people in your parish to think like that.
I don't feel sad about my 'condition', because I am healthy. And yep, Jesus is my Saviour too.
John 3:16 Says "For God so loved the world that He sent his only begotten son into the world, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH in Him shall have everlasting life."
It doesn't say "....that WHOSOEVER except gays and lesbians and narrow minded people and those who judge each other....BELIEVETH in Him....."
Do your own research. Start with Scanzoni and Mollenkott's book "Is The Homosexual My Neighbour?"
Remember, ministers and priests and religious leaders are human too, and just as prone to bias, incomplete knowledge, and reacting out of places of woundedness as you and I are.
God bless.

I'm not sad, nor am I mentally disturbed. I have a degree in psychology and actually it is the judgmental people in this world who are mentally disturbed. They do not have the self esteem and confidence to live their own lives as they see fit. Therefore, they are extremely unhappy people and must degrade others in some misguided attempt to make themselves feel better.
I thought that true Christians were suppose to be loving and non judgmental. You know that playing God and judging others is the biggest sin you can commit according to the bible? So I guess you'll be in HeII waiting for me huh?

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
Judge not lest ye be judged.

I'm not gay, but I don't know how your parish can say something like that unless someone is gay themselves and had an unstable family. Is it not true that Christian people are not suppose to judge others?

We aren't mentally disturbed, and my dad's family is deeply religious; my mother's more moderately religious. Both my parents were raised Christian and raised my brother and I that way.
To answer your question, no I am proud of who I am. I'm a lesbian and I could care less what anyone thinks about me.
FYI- Jesus never said anything about homosexuality, and God is technically the way to salvation.

Honey, the word is GAY for a reason!
Try looking it up in a dictionary, it means HAPPY!
Of course we're not sad about being Gay!
Secondly, it's not a "condition." It's WHO WE ARE.
Thirdly, the American Psychological Association removed homosexuality from it's lexicon of mental disorders back in 1973, your pastor should catch up to the Twentieth century.
Fourthly, my family is about as stable as they come. Two parents, one mother one father. Two kids. A home in suburbia. Had two cats and a dog. Lived in a fairly Conservative town. Big Irish extended family.
My parents are still married to one another and have been for over 45yrs!
I've never been sexually molested. I was a girl scout, my brother was an Eagle scout. My Mother was a stay-at-home-Mom until I was twelve and my brother and I could take care of ourselves. Then she worked for the city as the "Welcome hostess" for new families who had just moved into the community. My Dad commuted to his job in the city, via the train. I'm a person of deep faith.
Nope, no instability here.
I'm just exactly as God made me. Perfectly ME in every way....GAY!
Salvation has nothing to do with my sexuality. Jesus NEVER once said anything regarding homosexuality or gays.
His ONLY commandment was: Love thy neighbor as thyself!

hmmm...so all people that have had an unstable family are gay??? so does that mean that all christians have had a stable family? i think not. christians are not suppose to judge anyone for anything. "let he who has not sinned cast the first stone"...or something along those lines. people are different. people love in different ways...get over it...get a life and stay out of other peoples bedrooms. is your life really that boring that you feel it necessary to judge people on who they sleep with at night instead of the person that they are?

How dose he know that gay people come from disturbed families. I know some pretty disturbed Christian leaders [like catholic priests] that come from good families. He dose not know what he is talking about and is not christian to think he is great enough to pass judgment on any other human being. I am not gay and don't believe it is necessary to be lead in that direction because the media etc. says is is OK now to behave that way........But I would not think myself great enough to pass judgment on them concerning their salvation..........To each his own.......
