I sing really good and can hit notes most females wouldn't even dare try, but my school won't let me take band and chorus. Band is my favorite part of the day. But my mom wants me to take chorus and she is taking me out of band. How do i tell her in a nice way that i will NOT quit band no matter what she does?

sometimes...altghough it feels akward, you must tell your mom how you feel..."frankly i dont want5 to quit band!"...i love it and....etc.....tell her be frank...dont be shy, you'll be glad you did talk to your mom...talk to her as though she were your friend because a mother is a childs best friend...good luck i hope it works out

Alright looky here what you need to do is just sit her down and talk to her about this which is pretty much what you did with us. Now if your mom is like most parents she'll either try to coax you into her way of thinking during the conversation or bribe you maybe even both but be strong and resist the temptation to give in, mind you I only say this because when you're trying to keep something love to do and someone else wants to stop that its rarely an easy fight to win. Anyway I hope I helped in some way and I'm so sorry for all the run-on sentences.

Which do you want to continue studying after high school? And why won't the school let you take both? What you will need to do is to decide whether the training you will lose by not taking chorus is worth giving up for a favored class. Whatever you do, talk calmly and rationally with your mom and you may convince her you have the right idea.

Tell her how you feel and be mature. If you raise your voice, she won't listen to what you have to say... so stay calm! =) Say something like, "I enjoy band a lot more than singing, but I do wish I could take both band and chorus. Maybe next year I can try chorus."

EH , well I saw that you should just tell her flat out . Because she cant get mad at you for wantaing to do what YOU want to do . but if you are a really good singer you should try and go somewhere with that. Why wont your school let you do choir? But since they wont just take other classes or try to get heard. JUst do what you feel is best.

Good Luck!

have you tried telling her how you feel about band? i know it is easy for me to say this now i am a mom. it was allot harder when i was younger! believe it or not we do Liston. your mom loves you, and I'm sure she wants you yo be happy. just make sure you take a softer approach. don't just say your not giving it up no matter what. tell her it's what makes you happy!! god knows you could be doing way worst things!! but your not. your mom should be proud!!

If you enjoy singing as well as playing an instrument perhaps you can suggest to your mother that you take voice lessons outside of school. That way you don't need to give up band.

dont worry about being nice. just put your foot down.

or compromise. stay in school band, but join a singing group outside of school. perhaps a church choir?

well, alway be carefull with the words you use because you can lose. talk to her in a serious and calm way, that she sees what you really want, explain to her. but always be calm. and trust i her she's your mom and sooner or later she has to understand that you have dreams and things you like more than others...
good luck!!
