What is the best christmas present you got?

A pencil that had this magnificent apple scent... yeah,...I certainly was not spoiled growing up. When I got that for Christmas, my best friend had a whole living-room full of gifts. I wasn't jealous at all... not a bit, because the years prior to that were spent without any gifts at all... and without our Mom and Dad...that was the year we all reunited in Germany. Whenever I smell that scent, it reminds me of that very first Christmas as a family.... after 8 years without our Mom. By the way my best friend is now 35 and still lives with her parents- never had a boyfriend.

The best Christmas present was being with my husband, and the gift of his love for me. We have presents under the tree, but that was the best! I still miss him.

My mom had just had my youngest (fourth) sibling, my little brother, in November. My father had a tough job as a roughneck on a west Texas oil rig. We had just moved from my hometown in east Texas.
I was ten, and my sisters were eight, seven, and two years old. Money was tight. We weren't expecting anything.
On Christmas morning we woke to find a beautiful mahogany kitchen built by my father by hand; new clothes for our dolls hand-made by our mother; and we three older girls got new roller skates bought with green stamps books that Mother had saved. We had our boy, our gifts--and each other. Life was beautiful.

I have 3 tied favorites my Strawberry Shortcake doll (she smelled like strawberries), my Holly Hobbie Doll and Barbie Make up and hairstyle Head(that you could do the hair and put make up on). and the best one was A New Nissan Maxima from my Parents when I was 16
