Check the statutes for your state. Michigan should have them online. The law may read that no person under the age of 21 will be served alcoholic beverages.... or it may read that no person under the age of 21 may enter an establishment that serves primarily alcoholic beverages. Another factor may be the policy of that restaurant. Even if the law allows a child to "sit" at the bar, the restaurant may have the right to ask the child's parent to seat him/her at a dinner table.

remember, tables were made for glasses and not for fancy a**es. a minor shouldn't sit on a bar top anywhere. that is nasty.
