Whatever we get out of torture is not worth it.
Our leaders are taking us in the wrong direction.
They are selling our American soul.

I wouldn't be so pissed at this legislation if the wording didn't (Once again!) leave it open to interpretation so that even someone like an American protester could be held without reason and tortured to any degree the president wanted.


Read the bill, and remember, technicalities.

‘Created’ part aside, the idea is that we all start out with the same basic potential. When some really bad-***’d dude comes along, presumably over the course of his life evolving into a monster, he’s forfeited his claim to humane treatment. The child molester, for example, deserves a wienerectomy; do you find this at odds with your premise? I do not! I also don’t have a problem with harsh treatment of objectively defined enemies of the USA.

America has always been one of the few nations who believes that personal principles should translate into national policy. With the abondonment of this key idea we begin to loose our position of moral leadership.

Yet we also need to consider how we gaurentee the life, liberty and pursuit of happiness for our citizens when we have enemies that our willing to sacrifice their own lives to do us harm.

It's necessary. When our founding fathers said all men had the right of life, why did they go out and kill a bunch of English? You have to be able to get information from prisoners in a war situation. We aren't slowly beheading them as the animals have done to Americans. If you want to continue to live in a free society, let our people do what they have to do to keep us safe.

How about the Beheadings, Rape, Torture, and bombings of our Country men and Allies.

In WWII if you where caught behind enemy lines in civilian clothes you were shot as a spy. They do not wear military clothing and hide with civilians, they are not covered under the Geneva Convention. They are backwards people with no spine!

We're supposed to be the good guys. 'Course in other wars the other side didn't mind torturing and killing our guys, wonder why no one mentions that?

You give up those "rights" when you knowingly commit crimes. Sorry but criminals get what they deserve and they deserve no rights. What rights were they showing the people or property they criminalized? They were giving the law the right to take them away.
