help.... what do I do?

I'm having problems with my messenger. every time I try to check my status, the window doesn't pop up. the little box thingy shows that I'm invisable. can my husband still IM me? how do I fix this problem? And do I HAVE to uninstall then reinstall?

thank you to everyone for your advise I guess the main problem is I can't get into my IM to change my status.

You can change your online status to a variety of diferent options, and if you go into the preferences you can change the default setting for what you want it to be when you first signin.

You can also always have a chat with someone while you appear to be offline, but that person will not know whether you are offline or not when they contact your until either you fail to respond or stop responding when you are in the middle of a conversation and suddenly dissapear for some reason or another.

You can still be Im'd by your hubby or anyone else- they just cannot see u and that way u can answer and talk when u want and when u dont. When u first sign on to messenging it will have a little pop up box and you can change it so people can see u. Im always invisible too cuz I got tired of doing my yahoo answers and having guys im me screaming- lets see your boobs! lol

All you have to do is change your privacy settings.
Your husband should still be able to email you IM you my girlfriend IMed me once when I set mine to invisible cause people were bugging me. My gf is an entirely different matter. I don't mind her bugging me. hehe
