I have no absolute idea either...at first i tought he had bone structure problems in his face but...doesn't seem to be the case.

Brighi had a surgery in his cheekbone since August (before the beginning of the Serie A) and since then he plays with a special customized protective mask, which is very light (made with strong carbon) and it is colored with his Team's colors (Yellow & blue)
Many people noticed that because he scored against Inter Milan and the game was televised LIVE.
