yes it does...nicotine is an appetite suppresant and some teenagers and even adults use it for the sole reason to lose weight. But its really not worth it considering its adverse effects on the body.

Does Smoking Help Lose Weight

2016-10-06 07:59:41 · answer #3 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

Speaking from experience, smoking does NOT help you lose weight. However, if you already smoke, and you quit---then you may gain weight.

it's an oral fixation thing....having that cigarette keeps your mouth busy....and the nicotine calms your nerves. So, filling up with food not only helps the oral fixation, but calms you down too.

If you're trying to lose weight by smoking, I'd seriously suggest you try another way. I know when I quit smoking, I had a huge jar of those little dum-dum lollipops...and whenever I felt hungry I'd just pop one of those in my mouth. Maybe that might work for you....Lollipops are much better for you than cigarettes ;-)

This is a complete and utter myth. Smoking MAY increase your metabolic rate, and also is shown to supress appetite, so by proxy, yes you MAY lose weight by smoking, but it is a BAD idea. Smoking has thousands of health risks, from lung cancer to heart problems. With these risks, there is NO point in losing a couple of pounds. There are WAY healthier ways to lose weight than smoking.

Not really. Smoking is probably the worst way to lose wait. Diet and excercise is the best way.
Sometimes, instead of eating a snack, people will have a cigarette. If you still eat at McDonalds and KFC, this will not make you lose weight.
Quitting smoking usually makes you gain weight because you tend to eat instead of smoking.
You still see fat people smoking, so it's obviously not really that effective.
I am about to give up the cigarettes and embark on a healthy diet and exercise regime.

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.

1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.

2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.

3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.

These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

The diet is too much to handle becaue you're making yourself uncomfortable. If you make yourself uncomfortable with dramatic lifestyle changes, you wont stick with it. I think what will work best for you is one or two small changes at a time. That is how a lot of people do it. My mom used to be big as the side of the house and she started with small changes. First she gave up candy bars and after a week or so she gave up cheese burgers then after another week or so she started walking a little bit.... and just gradually keep adding those small changes. Shes fit now.

I think you could benefit a lot with some nutrition or fitness coaching. Most people need that because they want to change and have all the drive to do it and stick with it, but just don't know what to do or how to start.

Small changes make all the difference. I don't know what you do all day but one small change could be to just start taking stairs instead of an elevator... or if you have whole milk with your cearal, switch to skim or 2% just things like that. Or, if you eat breakfast as school, instead of having the biscuits and gravy, have fruit and oatmeal or whatever else is available that's a better choice. Or stop having ketchup with your French fries (its all sugar). It really does work.

I've spent lots of money on diet clinics and stuff that use drugs or put you on a really strict diet and the results never lasted because it was just too dramatic and I went back to the same bad habits. The only things that ever let to lasting resuts was the small changes that I stuck with... like parking far away from buildings and walking through the parking lot rather than parking as close to the door as I could... I've even joined extreme fitness classes like crossifr and never stayed with them because it was just too much all at once.

One thing you can do that you wont really notice is don't eat everything on your plate... leave like 20% of it. At the end of the month, all that food really adds up.

You can start losing weight steadily and quickly by cutting your calorie intake down by around 350-500 a day and drink plenty of water, eat healthily. Also breaking down your meals into multiple snacks can help speed up the metabolism meaning you will burn calories quicker and digest food quicker. By cutting down portions and being healthy you could loose a couple of pounds within a fortnight. Which isn't amazing but you are more likely to keep it off and get used to eating less meaning you can carry on your weight loss to further lengths.

Please, DO NOT start smoking in an effort to loose weight. Smoking does stop stomach muscles from contracting, which makes you not feel hungry, but eventually you will want to quit, and most people quitting smoking end up eating A LOT because they need the oral fixation.

And smoking is definitely more unhealthy than any overweightness. Add to that, smelly clothes, hair, mouth, yellow teeth, cancer, expensive, hacking cough and increased illness.

After seeing this I feel the need to share something because I spent years going from diet to diet without any success until I came across Pams magic plan (i found it on google). It is without a doubt the most weight loss that I have ever achieved and I have not put it back on to this day.
