Freeze your new jeans in the freezer for a couple hours. Then, take them out, and use your fingernail or butterknife to scrape away the frozen goop. Works for gum and candle wax too!

Good luck Hon!

There is a product on the market called "Goo Be Gone" that I have used on jeans that worked like a charm. Next best thing would be "Lestoil" which can be found in with household cleaners in any supermarket or supercenter and is usually under $3 a bottle. It is petroleum based and by coating the jeans where the sticky label was, then let it set for 20 mins then wash. It also works on any oil based stains.

I have found the ultimate stain removal!!! I am sure everyone is familar with the Dryel home dryclean kit. Well, inside the kit, there is a stain removal solution. That stuff is liquid gold! It removed black Sharpie marks off a pair of jeans that had been washed several times. I had pretty much given up on the jeans, but several months later, I decided to try the Dryel solution. It's so easy too! You don't have to actually dryclean the item, you can just use the solution. Fabulous stuff!!!

I don't know but I would return them to the store where you bought them and show them and tell them you want your money back. Then they might learn to put labels on a plastic string to attach to the garment or pin the label on.
