I have never had a baby and it was very painful when I got my IUD....can anyone tell me their experiences w/ one, and does it hurt to have one removed?

i know what you mean girlie...i've had mine almost a year and i have more days with a period than without.

i want to get it taken out but i'm worried how painful it will be. i've gotten different stories. i know it was painful going in, and i've had problems and pain ever since.

good luck! i have one too. They put one in me after i had my daughter, that was two years ago.....and i am still bleedin!!!!!!!! I have had a period for two years cramps in all.... so he has me on some estrogen( which i have been on for months) and he is giving me one more month to stop bleeding if it doesnt work then he is going to remove it......also they told me i would only spot for 6 months, u dont know what u are gettting urslef into...

Almost a year you should wait a lil after the 1st year (if you can tolerate it) bc thats when your periods will lessen and become less frequent. YES it would hurt more a woman who hasn't had children simply bc the cervix is very closed and the uterus is smaller in comparison with a woman who has had at least 1 child. I would suggest taking some Ibuprofen to lessen the pain when you go for the removal

When I got mine didn't hurt a bit. I had light spotting the first month I had it. Now I barely have a period. I have the Mirena.

I had one years ago and I had no problems with it. I left it in longer than I was supposed to. It felt uncomfortable to have it removed but nothing too bad. good luck.

No, it doesn't hurt to have it removed. You will be relieved to get rid of it. Why weren't those things were outlawed years ago?
