We'll be going there either for Thanksgiving or Christmas vacation. I've been there alone and had a good time, but I need activities he'll enjoy. Is there a good zoo there? I heard there's a wild animal preserve near Phoenix? Anyone have comments on whether it's worth it? He's going to have spending money so any names of toy stores/hobby shops (he collects coins) would be great. He has a broad range of interests so any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh, and restaurants he might like. I know of a pizza place near ASU that has great pizza and the best chocolate chip dessert, but that's it. Thanks.

I took my 5 yr old son on a trip 2 phoenix in May 06'. It was a short trip but he loved it. There is Horseback riding. We went to a movie. There is an amusement park I think it's called "rollercoasters and gulf" that was really fun.
It's about 10 mins. away from ASU on the I-17. have fun and enjoy!!

My stepdaddy took me to disneyworld once, he asked me what I wanted to do, I never forgot that, and now that is what I do with the little people that are around me. I ask them what they wish to do, and then we will do that. Sometimes I will just do the really simple stuffs like swiming in a backyard wade pool, or playing with a sprinkler, or bike rideing, or walking around the neighborhoods and looking at the dogs and cats. Just being there and being interested in what is going on is like life.
