Go and have a good time and don't anticipate what may or may not happen--you don't want to end up disappointed.

It's early in the school year and everyone will be nervous and unsure of what to do. There may be some pairing off, but I can practically guarantee the boys will be as shy as the girls. You might get some confidence if you go with a group of friends--that way you won't be stuck against the wall or by the punch bowl all night. You can dance with each other. They may be able to introduce you to someone you don't know and vice versa.

If you see your crush getting punch and he's alone, saunter up and say hi and maybe ask him to get you a cup. Strike up a conversation--do you share homeroom, other classes? Talk about something funny that happened in class or ask if he likes a certain teacher. If he doesn't respond, smile nicely and say something like nice talking to you, have a good time, and wander back to your friends (this is where they really come in handy!). If it doesn't work out, write him off--there's still a lot of school and a lot of boys to meet. Just be yourself.

If you don't go, on school Monday everyone who did go will be talking about it and you'll feel even more left out. Just being with people you know and like will be fun.

No. Stay at home and talk to all the people on Yahoo Answers all night. Go to school the next Monday and hear all the stories of how much fun they had at the dance.

Don't be a village idiot. Of course go to the dance. As far as your 'crush' goes, guys are not interested in girls at your age. Give them a couple more years to catch up.

Just go, dance and have a good time and forget about boys.

Crush? You will have a crush every year until you marry. What you need to do is stop worrying about what each particular crush will do or think... or whether you will talk to him or not. yea.... you need to go to the dance to be with your friends and to have a good time.

Believe me. I am 48 and I am just getting there now. It is much more important to grow in who you are and what you want to do and the men (boys) will follow you.

As soon as you put him in the back of your mind... he will Yearn to be in the front. So, GO, be yourself and call me in the morning.

Yes you should go. It's a memory that will last a lifetime. Don't get too worried about the crush. Every few months there will be a new crush.

Yes. Go to the dance! You gonna stay home in fear for the rest of your life? No.

When you freeze up, just smile and blink your eyes.

At least you will look pretty, and most guys don't really want to listen to girls chattering and giggling all the time anyway.

Just have a couple drinks before hand , that'll loosen you up if/before your crush comes up to you.
