Lucky girl to be so beautiful Not everyone is so blessed. Many women of color, just as women who are of pale complexion, need to even out their skin tones and make-up helps them to do so. Foundation use is a very personal thing and you shouldn't worry about others and realize how lucky you are to not need any.
By the way, not all pale women wear foundation. My daughter who has very pale porcelain skin does not and always is told how delicate and beautiful she is. Some people are just blessed with great skin.

U obviously don't know what foundation is for. It is for coverage(as in covering zits) and evening out skin tone. Lots of ppl are redder/darker/lighter in some areas of their face compared to other areas. A black person may have spots on their cheeks that they want to cover up, a Hispanic girl may have zits, a white person redness. Every1 with skin problems, regardless of "color", can use foundation. I do not, mainly because I am not good at applying it, but I would like to use it.
No1 uses foundation to add color. Yes, sometimes foundation can darken your face if u chose a slightly darker color than your skin. But it is not done purposely. If u are beautifil and hit on by guys, i do not think it is because of your skin tone. If u r saying white ppl r ugly, i disagree. I am confused by your statements, but it sounds like u r saying that u and "colored"(i do not understand y u chose to use that term) are beautiful because they are dark and white ppl need foundation to be dark and pretty. You are mistaken.
No1 else will agree because u obviously didn't know what foundation was used for and made a false assumption, but it is okay because this is Yahoo answers and we are here to help.

Most women don't use makeup to add colour, it's more to even out their skin tones. Some people have red cheeks, or dark circles under their eyes. Some people have a blemish they don't want immediately visible. I have this red line across my nose. Not very noticeable, but if I'm going somewhere and I want to look my best, I'll blend in some foundation, and it disappears!
You're lucky so far that you haven't had to wear make up. Once you have a kid that may change, as it did for me!

It is to look like celebrities with flawless skin. The irony is that most of them without makeup look nothing like their camera ready face. Have you seen before and after pictures of Oprah? Rent The Color Purple or Beloved, and then, watch her show. Anyway, it also evens skin tone and helps with self confidence. They want to look their best. Some women (like you) are naturally beautiful. Others would like to have that, and cosmetics is the way that they can achieve that. If you are happy with yourself the way you are, that is great. However, there is nothing wrong with wearing cosmetics, if it makes you feel better about yourself and gives you self confidence.

Foundation is not a cover up, it's a way of evening out the colors. All people have these color problems which is why everyone who goes on a TV show will have a foundation out on. It evens the color and reflects the light uniformly.

Yes, color is only one reason a woman would wear foundation. But nowadays we know that everyone needs protection from the sun, this goes for young and old alike. You might have perfect skin now but if you don't wear sunscreen it will be blotchy when you are older.
Another reason to wear foundation, and I always recommend a 'tinted' foundation to my customers at http://www.youravon.com/gberes is that there are some foundations out now that actually have blemish preventing salycylic acid! This not only protect the skin but keeps it clear and fresh also. And who doesn't want clear and fresh skin?
Finally, foundation is a great way to neutralize certain undertones in your skin, for instance, my skin is excessively pink and in order to make it look more natural, I mix my normal foundation color with a foundation that has a bit more warmth to it. This works out perfect for me. Another person might want to add a little bronziness to their complexion for added glow!
Nothing wrong with glow!
Hope this helps,
Ginny

The only thing I can agree on, is that you are really young to understand why "women" of all colors wears make up. I use to be like you, but didn't worry about others, and when you want to look professional and well nice prepare (not like if you got up from bed), you will fix yourself to enhance your appearance. As much as you can, take care of your face and believe me, make up do not damage your skin... You are welcome to see my face after 25 years, 20 of which I've been using make up, still soft and young .

Many women of color wear make up to enhance not cover. Then there are some who wear it to even their skin tones. Makeup is not so bad ifyou wear it sparingly, but I do hate to see women with it caked on t doesn't add any beauty to them

i don't know many girls, or really any, that wear foundation to ADD color. They wear it to even their skin tone or to cover up imperfections like zits and such. You really want a foundation that is your exact color so its not noticable that youre wearing it.
I do agree that people who don't need foundation, shouldn't wear it whether they have color or are "pale". I think skin looks best with out makup piled over it.

I don't necessarily agree, but I do think that you are fortunate to have flawless skin. Everyone isn't that lucky, though. Lots of women have uneven color or spots that they need to minimize with makeup. So use foundation to try to even out the skin tone or cover the spots in order to look like they have skin like yours!
