I got my ears pierced seven months ago and finally took the earrings out last night. This afternoon, I tried putting in new earrings and it was fine with my left ear, but the earring won't go all the way through my right one. The back of my right ear has a bump where I think the hole is and attempting to put the earring through is both painful and impossible. Also, the hole on the front of the right ear seems only the size of a pinprick compared to the left, which seems to be fine and normal.
Should I try to force the earring through anyway, or press the bump to flatten it, or will this heal over time?

Wow, sounds like you developed a keloid. I suggest having a professional piercer take a look at it. Now, they can't give you medical advice, but if they see your doctor, then see your doctor! Because they are telling you something is wrong.
NEVER USE PEROXIDE! IT EATS AWAY AT THE INFECTION MAKING IT WORSE!
Good luck Hon!

Give it a few days - it could be just swelling, or it could be simply hardened tissue (which is harmless). Have you tried putting in another set of earrings. I usually find that putting in one set is hard while another is really easy.
Remember to keep it clean. If in doubt, see a doctor, or the place you got your ears pierced and ask them for a recommendation (NOT a diagnosis, they might tell you to go and see a doctor)

I got the same thing one one of my 7 piercings at top of my ear. My piercer recommended Vitamin E oil. Make sure you keep it clean with sea salt water (boiling water, add 1/4 teaspoon of salt and leave to cool then clean all around piercing with cotton bud) Once it's dry put on a bit of Vit E oil with clean cotton bud. Hope this helps x

oh i had this problem once before, you should leave the bump alone and you should put your right earring in at an angle ..somtimes when they pierce it it is at an angle so thats why it probably got infected when you tried to put your earring in. you can also buy some antiseptic for your ears so the infection doesn't worsen.

I had a bump behind both of mine when I got them done years ago. Hopefully, they will go away. But, mine were pierced at an angle, so I tried them at an angle and it went it. Put some peroxide on you ear(lots of it) and then try again.
Good luck!

I would say that maybe you should call the place in which you got them pierced, if they can not answer then maybe should should call the doctor.
